We all have our favorite pieces of camping gear, a good tent, sleeping bag and stove, but one of the best parts about camping is good food. Cache Lake Camping food is not your typical backpacking food. Besides being easy to prepare, it’s taste is fantastic. Additionally, there are dishes that are not typical of most camping foods. My favorite is the frying pan breads. Take some on your next trip and you won’t be disappointed. Some good nutrition to help carry that camping equipment.

The warm weather has reminded me of how fun it is to cool off in a lake or river when camping. As part of my camping gear, I like to take an inflatable kayak along. It doesn’t take up much room and boy is it fun and relaxing. Now that the snows are melting, there’s great fun in the streams. The Stearns Kayak is a great value.

There’s nothing like getting set for the great outdoors and to have all your camping gear stuck at the side of the road with a breakdown. It’s a good idea to take along a good roadside safety kit to make sure your vacation isn’t ruined. Jumper cable, tow ropes, gloves, etc. can help get you out of hot water. Disaster survival sites often carry these kits.

These lightweight kayak trailers are a good way to haul your kayaks or canoes to your favorite camping spot. There’s also enough extra room that you can strap down some of your camping gear with the addition of a tote box. With today’s gas prices, the lightweight aluminum of the TrailEx trailer helps a bit.

These are finally in stock and a top seller. The classic Svea stove is suprisingly a top seller even with all the new and fancy camping gear today. This backpacking stove offers rugged dependability but most of all, camping nostalgia. I’ve had people buy three at a time.

It’s been 40 years since I purchased my first Optimus Hiker and they’re still making them. My camping gear has always included that reliable old stove with it’s familiar brass tank. The look is slightly different today and it’s a bit easier to use multi-fuels in the backpacking stove. It’s also the one stove we always seem to run out of and is in short supply - there are still those that grew up on this stove and keep getting it.

Part of the joy of the outdoors is to enjoy great food. Good backpacking food is an essential part of your camping gear but you don’t want to lug around heavy items. So much backpacking food tastes “blah” but the Cache Lake line is fantastic and easy. The dishes are also unique. I especially like the frying pan bread - much like a good restaurant style focaccia. You can’t go wrong with this great line of backpacking food for your camping equipment and supplies.

As part of my camping gear, I take a sport bottle that allows me easy water filtration on the trail. I keep my trusty water filter handy for larger filtration needs but sometimes it’s nice not to have to get out the hoses and just fill up my sport bottle and drink. This sport bottle has a built in water filter that filters down to the ghirdia levels. No need to worry about cross contamination of tubes, etc. This is a must have for my camping equipment and is from the trusted Aquamira folks.

When you’ve got too much camping gear and want to take the kayak along, throw it on top or in a triailer. A good kayak rack will keep your boat safe and secure traveling to the mountains and white water. If you have multiple canoes and kayaks, take along a lightweight kayak trailer to haul them along. You can even add racks to take along the mountain bikes. A great source for everything kayak is Paddling.net.

Ever had a big event and wanted to grill up a ton of hamburgers or a mass of chicken for a hungry crowd? Do you have the right barbecue supplies to pull it off? One of the easiest ways is with a flat barbecue grill. Not only can you cook for a crowd but you can store this easily when not in use by simply taking off the legs. Find great recipes at the BBQ portal.
